Double win at the UK Small Business Awards
If you’ve worked with us, you’ll know we don’t do what we do for trophies! We do it because we care about getting design right for the businesses we work with. So we were very honoured to receive two awards at the UK Small Business Awards. We were named Best Website Design Business, and also placed in the Top 10 Graphic Design Businesses in the UK.
Why this means a lot
The UK Small Business Awards shine a light on independent businesses like ours that are making a difference in their industries. Being recognised among so many passionate, hardworking companies is something we don’t take lightly. We’ve been doing this for two decades, so it also feels like a good time to reflect on that.
Website design with intention
Since 2007, we’ve designed, built and maintained over 100 websites for organisations across the UK. From local businesses like Courts of Rayleigh and Harmony Blinds, to professional services such as Browns Solicitors, every project starts in the same place. We start by understanding the business behind the website. We know that a website isn’t just a collection of pages, it’s often the first impression people have of a brand. That’s why our websites are never just about how things look (although that matters too!). They are about clarity, usability, and helping businesses communicate who they are and what makes them different.
Graphic design that brings everything together
Alongside the website award, we were also recognised for our graphic design work, achieving a Top 10 place nationally. We shape how a business is seen and remembered through branding, brochures, infographics and marketing materials. Bringing graphic design and web design together allows us to create a consistent, considered visual identity, rather than lots of disconnected pieces. It’s this joined-up approach that many of our clients tell us makes the biggest difference.
A family business, built on collaboration
Northsouth Design & Marketing was founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Shaun and Lesley Moss, with a clear vision to create intuitive, purposeful design that adds real value to growing businesses. We are based in Rayleigh, Essex, and are proud to be a family business that works closely with clients, asks a lot of questions, and believes the best results come from collaboration.
The awards are testament to this. We approach every project strategically with quality and dedication, whether designing a brand, creating a brochure, an infographic or building a website. We work really closely with our clients, taking them through the process step by step.
