Welcome to the brand new blog of Northsouth Design

Welcome to the brand new blog of Northsouth Design, with graphic designer Lesley Moss

Its not my first blog post for Northsouth but its the start of a new era with a new website.

So for those that no nothing about me here’s a brief summary about me and my experience as a graphic designer:

I have over 20 years under my belt in the creative industry. I was always fascinated by art from an early age. I would regularly sit and draw or doodle on any bits of paper that were lying around. I took A Level Art and Graphic Communication at school and excelled in both. I knew I wanted to do something ‘arty’ when I left school and I developed an interest in becoming a graphic designer. I studied Art and Design at the City and Guilds of London Art School on their foundation course specialising in 2.D Design. I then embarked on a three year degree course at the University of Westminster, studying graphic information design.

After college

Still a little wet behind the ears, I got a job as a Junior art director. A fantastic agency called LGM in the heart of London. I stayed there for 5 years and learned my trade. I worked on many diverse accounts. These ranged from alcoholic brands like Budweiser, Michelob, Heineken and Teachers Whisky to large organisations like the BBC, Barclays and Sainsburys.

Eventually I moved on and developed my career further working for various agencies in London. These included EuroRSCG Skybridge and a freelance position with HHCL. Over the years I have designed and art directed projects for Coca-Cola, Birds Eye, T-Mobile, Jamesons Whiskey, Bacardi, Glaxosmithkline and Vodafone.

Northsouth Design

Then I set up Northsouth Design with my partner in crime (my husband), who is also a Graphic Designer. The name Northsouth seemed apt as he is a ‘northern lad’ from Lancashire and I’m a ‘soft southerner’! Find out more here

Things have gone from strength to strength and I now mainly concentrate on working for SME and start up businesses. I have a passion for great design and get a great sense of achievement when I see a business grow. Knowing that I have been part of that process is very rewarding. Business has doubled in the last couple of years. I put this down to my sheer determination to always come up with work that I am proud of. I have a great reputation which means I get a lot of work from word of mouth and networking.
