Why We Won’t Design Your Logo for £50!

How much does it cost to design a company logo?

We might as well answer: “how long is a piece of string!”

If you’re in the market for a logo, whether you’re starting a new business or re-branding an existing one, then you’ve probably noticed the dizzying number of logo design options available.

These include designers who seem more than happy to create a professional logo for £50 (or thereabouts).

It might feel tempting to choose a £50 option, especially when money is tight.  You don’t want anything too fancy, anyway.  And if your business becomes mega-successful, you can always change it later on… right?

A good logo should work hard for your business

Your logo identifies your company in a crowd, but the right one will stand it head and shoulders above.  Speaking directly to your audience, your logo should communicate your style, approach, and values, all without you saying a single word!

Consciously or not, people remember logos, which means you should always think carefully before changing it.  You don’t want your business to become unrecognisable overnight, especially if you’ve spent time and effort building a good reputation.

What happens when you ask us to design your logo?

For us, designing the right logo is a bespoke process, unique to every client.  It also takes time, care, effort, and hard-won expertise – which is why we don’t offer our services for £50.

Yet we still provide outstanding value for money.  Here’s how.

Step One: Discovery

We always begin with an in-depth consultation, which we try to arrange face-to-face wherever possible (yes, we have a full branding questionnaire too!)

It’s important for us to understand exactly what you want from your new logo, but we also need to know what you don’t want.  That way, we’ll avoid things like presenting you with an amazing design… in a colour you’ve always hated.

Step Two: Design

Every one of our designs is original and bespoke, drawing on our years of creative design experience working with brands large and small.

Rather than templates, we work to the unique requirements and guidelines we talked through with you, so you can be sure that nobody else will have the same logo.

Step Three: Demonstration

Time for the big reveal!

We understand that this can be a nerve-wracking time, so to help inspire confidence, we always present our clients with three logo concepts to choose from.  Then, we offer two sets of amendments on their chosen design.

(To help inspire even more confidence, to date we have never presented three logo concepts to a client and had all of them rejected!)

But that’s not all.

You’ll receive a full suite of logos for print and digital use, adapted for business cards, Facebook and Instagram profiles, and other branding materials such as vehicles and uniforms.

The logo files will be provided in colour and ‘white-out’ versions – the latter useful for placing over photos or using as watermarks – while digital versions will be fully mobile-responsive.

We also provide vector files.  Many cheaper design services, not to mention some online design tools like Canva, do not offer these.  Yet vector files are so important for a business, because they allow the logo to be resized without any limits (find out more about the importance of vector files here).

Oh… and we’ll also present you with a guide to the different file formats, along with the variations, colours, and typeface styles we’ve used.

Our exact services will vary depending on the size of your company, and your individual requirements (a large organisation will need more adaptations than a one-person start-up, for example).

So, while our logo design quote may be more than £50, we hope we’ve shown that we’re more than worth the difference!
